Overview
We manufacture retail kidswear for children’s brands, family labels adding a mini range, and buyers sourcing direct. The garments are the same construction as our adult knitwear, graded to your size chart and cut to the cord and small-part rules that apply to children’s clothing. Where children’s apparel differs from everything else we make is the paperwork: it is a regulated category, and the legal certificate travels with the importer, not the factory. We build to the specification, document what we did, and support your third-party testing — and we tell you plainly which certificates we do not hold rather than let you find out at customs.

Kidswear — Specifications
What we can build, what it costs you in time, and where the minimums actually sit. Everything below is our standard offer — custom specs outside these ranges are quoted case by case.
Fabric & GSM tiers
GSM is grams per square metre — the single number that decides how the garment feels in hand. Mill tolerance is roughly ±5%.
| Weight | Construction | Typical use |
|---|---|---|
| 140–160 GSM | Single jersey, combed cotton | Kids tees and everyday layers — softest hand, fastest drying |
| 180–200 GSM | Single jersey / interlock | The retail standard for kidswear: holds shape through repeat washing |
| 210–230 GSM | CVC interlock | Longer-wearing tees and polo bodies; held in stock |
| 240–280 GSM | Brushed fleece | Kids sweatshirts, hoodies and joggers |
| 110–140 GSM | Poplin / chambray (woven) | Kids shirting and dresses — woven minimums apply |
Customization options
Screen printing is done in-house, which is why it is our fastest and best-controlled decoration. Embroidery is produced through a partner factory we work with regularly. Both are inspected against the approved sample under the same AQL standard as the garment itself.
| Option | Detail | Minimum order |
|---|---|---|
| Screen printing | Plastisol, water-based, discharge, high-density | From 50 pcs — unit economics improve sharply above ~300/design |
| Puff print | Raised plastisol, single or multi-layer | From 50 pcs — screen setup per colour |
| DTG | Direct-to-garment, soft hand on 100% cotton | From 50 pcs — no setup, best for detailed artwork |
| DTF | Direct-to-film transfer, unlimited colours | From 50 pcs — no setup, works on blends |
| Sublimation | All-over print, polyester only | From 50 pcs — print becomes part of the fibre |
| Embroidery | Flat, 3D/puff, appliqué, woven patches | From 50 pcs — digitising included, file is yours |
| Custom woven labels | Neck, hem, and side labels; printed tagless necks | From 50 pcs — 10–14 days label lead time |
| Custom hang tags | Card, string, barcode/SKU, care and origin compliance | From 50 pcs |
| Garment dye & wash | Garment dye, acid wash, enzyme wash, stone wash | From 25 pcs per colour — dye-lot minimums apply |
| Custom packaging | Polybags, printed mailers, retail boxes, FBA-ready cartons | From 50 pcs |

Kidswear — Frequently Asked Questions
What is your minimum order for kidswear?
There are three floors, and which one you land on is decided by how the garment is made rather than what it is called. Knit kidswear — tees, bodysuits, joggers, sweatshirts, hoodies, leggings — starts at 50 pieces per style, rising to 100 in peak season. Woven kidswear such as shirting and dresses starts at 300 pieces per style, because a woven run has to cover its own fabric and marker set. Sweater-knit pieces — cable knits, cardigans and fine-gauge pullovers — start at 500 pieces per style: they are knitted to shape on flat-bed machines with linking and hand finishing, not cut from jersey, and that setup only amortises over a much longer run. Note that a sweatshirt is cut-and-sew fleece and runs on the 50-piece floor — the two words look alike and mean very different minimums. Sizes count toward one style, not against it: a 50-piece knit order can be split across an age curve rather than being 50 of one size.
Can you issue a CPSIA Children’s Product Certificate (CPC)?
No — and no overseas factory can. Under the CPSIA the CPC is issued by the US importer or the domestic manufacturer, not by the supplier, and it has to rest on testing done at a CPSC-accepted third-party laboratory. What we do is the part that makes your certificate possible: manufacture to the specification you sign off, pull production samples for your nominated lab, and give you the manufacturing date and place, the material declarations, and the production records the CPC has to cite. Since 8 July 2026 US importers also have to file certificates electronically with Customs, so budget testing time into the schedule rather than treating it as a formality at the end. Any supplier telling you they are "CPSIA certified" is describing something that does not exist.
Can you make children’s clothing in OEKO-TEX certified fabric?
Yes — we can source OEKO-TEX Standard 100 certified fabric for your programme, and for a children’s range it is worth asking for. What we do not hold is a certificate of our own: our facility is BSCI certified, which is a social-compliance audit covering labour conditions, safety and working hours and says nothing about chemical content. We do not hold OEKO-TEX, GOTS, GRS, WRAP or ISO. Be careful with the difference, because it is where this claim usually goes wrong: certified fabric is not the same as a certified garment. Under OEKO-TEX rules a ready-made article needs its own dedicated certificate, and every component has to be certified — sewing thread, ribbing, buttons, zips, prints and labels, not just the body fabric. So we can build your kidswear in certified fabric and give you the mill’s certificate for it, but neither we nor you can put the STANDARD 100 label on the finished garment until that article itself is certified. If your retailer is asking for the label rather than the fabric, tell us at enquiry and we will map out what certifying the article would take, or say plainly that an already-certified supplier is the better route for you.
How do you handle drawstrings and cords on children’s garments?
To EN 14682:2014, which is the harmonised European standard for cords and drawstrings on children’s clothing up to age 14 and the one your buyer or retailer will audit against. In practice that means no drawstrings or functional cords in the hood or neck area on garments for younger children, controlled cord lengths elsewhere, and attention to loops, toggles, zip pullers and adjusting tabs — the details that fail an inspection long after the fabric has passed. The rules tighten below roughly 134 cm, so we need the age range at quotation, not at sampling: it changes the pattern, not just the trim.
What sizes and age ranges do you grade?
Either way round — a standard age curve or your own graded size chart, whichever suits you. If you have graded specs from an existing range we work to those directly. If you are starting from scratch we grade to a standard age curve and send you the measurement chart to approve before anything is cut, so you are never approving a size run you have not seen in numbers. Custom grading is not an upcharge or an exception; plenty of kidswear brands fit narrower or wider than a standard curve and that is a spec decision, not a special request. Grading rules stay locked across repeat orders, so a child moving up a size gets the same fit they had before — the failure mode in kidswear is not a wrong measurement on one size but a curve that drifts between production runs.
Who is responsible for compliance if I sell into the EU or UK?
You are, and the rules changed recently enough that it catches people out. Under the EU General Product Safety Regulation, fully applicable since 13 December 2024, a product cannot be placed on the EU market unless an economic operator established in the Union is responsible for it — an EU importer, an EU manufacturer, or an appointed authorised representative. That responsible person’s name and contact details have to appear on the product, its packaging or an accompanying document, alongside ours. We are a Bangladeshi manufacturer and cannot be your EU responsible person. Tell us what has to appear on the label and we will apply it at production; deciding who that party is has to happen before your first order ships.
