Fleece takes a wash differently from jersey — the brushed face lifts the lighter passages and the ribbing holds colour, which is what gives a washed hoodie its depth instead of a flat fade. Because the ribbing and the body wash at different rates, the intensity standard you approve is set on the body panel and the trims are matched to it.
